BUYER ALERT
MASS. Auto Reform Update- Buyer Beware!
We're here to answer all your questions
As we complete the first six months of "managed competition" for automobile insurance in Massachusetts, we'd like to share some observations and trends.
Rates Keep Changing
Almost all the auto insurance companies we follow have filed, and continue to file, revised rates in their attempt to compete for the the best drivers, who are also their most profitable insureds.
The overall percentage deviations between companies are small and we've found the overall savings are very close. However, companies are offering bigger incentives to combine your homeowners, condo-owners, or renters policy with your car insurance.
Online Quotes Often Misleading
Unfortunately, we have seen some online only carriers promote misleading quotes in their attempt to show a low price. For example, they may quote six-month policies and may also quote high glass and Personal Injury (PIP) deductibles.
We work for you.
At Keefe Insurance, our entire staff comprises licensed professionals whose goal is to see that you are properly protected. We represent multiple companies with a wide range of credits and discounts on auto and home insurance. When your policy comes up for renewal, we will match your situation with a company we feel offers the best overall value - protection and price.

Ride without worry this snowmobile season!
Your homeowner's policy has very limited coverage for "motorized land conveyances" such as snowmobiles and other recreational vehicles. The policy does not provide any physical damage coverage. The liability protection of the homeowner's policy only provides coverage when you operate the vehicle at your residence or on land you own. We offer a policy that provides physical damage coverage and liability coverage no matter where you operate the vehicle. Contact us for a full coverage quote for your snowmobile, ATV and other recreational vehicles.
SHORT TAKES
- Prevent ice dams this winter. It's gutter cleaning time and time to prepare for roof and eave snow removal. Melting ice dams and resulting water backups are a common cause of home property damages.
- Time to test smoke alarms. It's a good time to check your smoke detectors and to change the batteries. New batteries can often be a real life-saver!.
- Maintain a safe driving distance in traffic and on the open road. The recommended normal open road distance is the distance your car travels when you count to 1000, 2000 or one car length per 10 mph travel speed. Double or triple that count during inclement weather.
WE ENCOURAGE ANNUAL REVIEWS OF YOUR HOME AND AUTO COVERAGES. CALL US FOR AN IN-AGENCY OR TELEPHONE REVIEW OF YOUR SITUATION.
